Completely agree, a loud venue makes a first meeting harder than it needs to be.

Had a couple of first meetups recently that were in fairly loud places and it made conversation harder work than it needed to be. Starting to think quieter is just better for a first one.

Completely agree. Somewhere you can actually hear each other makes a bigger difference than people give it credit for.
